ACTIVITY REPORT OF THE YOUNG JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION OF THE GAMBIA (YJAG) FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 2011 – SEPTEMBER 2013

The Young Journalists Association of The Gambia (YJAG) is an independent non-profit making organization.  The association was formed by a group of young journalist with foresight and vision who thought it wise to come together to promote mutual understanding and the general wellbeing of young journalists in the country.  The association is legally registered with the Attorney General’s Chamber on 16th September, 2007. 

BREAKING NEWS: YJAG ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE

The Young Journalists Association of The Gambia, YJAG, on Saturday elected a new Executive Committee to run the affairs of the association until 2016.
Various positions were elected unopposed. Nfamara Jawneh, a founding president of YJAG, was elected unopposed as the new YJAG President. Jawneh's intention to run for presidency following his nomination - show the withdrawal of Bekai Njie, the outgoing YJAG 1st Vice President. Mr Jawneh, a Deputy Editor of The Point was President of YJAG from 2007-2009. 
Nyima Jadama, former Public Relations Officer, PRO, of YJAG is elected 1st Vice President. She works at Star FM radio, Ms Amie Faye of News & Report Magazine is elected 2nd Vice President, The Voice Newspaper's Sulayman Ceesay, a former Treasurer of YJAG is now the new Secretary General.
